Weekend Group Classes

Join a small group, meet new people and have fun while learning the secrets of authentic Thai cuisine - from authentic Thai cooks!

Half-day (3.5 hours) hands-on cooking class. You will learn to cook three authentic Thai dishes. You will make paste and sauce from scratch whereas possible.

The classes are hands-on and practical. You will be able to recreate the dishes in your own home at the end of class. Instead of cooking demonstration, you will be doing most of the preparation and cooking from the beginning to finish. The lessons are intended to be relaxed and fun, reflecting the Thai approach to life.


Thai cooking is very flexible and, although you will be given recipes, the emphasis is on understanding the ingredients and the key flavours of Thai cooking - sweet, sour, salty and spicy by active tasting approach and make adjustments while you cook.

Your class starts by introducing the ingredients, their substitutes and the flavour profile of the dishes. You will learn how to create these flavours and, importantly, how to balance them.

There is no need to have any previous cooking experience, just a love of food and a willingness to experiment!

  • Fully hands-on experience in a small group (maximum of 8 people)

  • Tuition from an authentic, friendly and knowledgeable Thai cook.

  • All ingredients - the ingredients used in the class are always high quality and where possible locally sourced. Although we use some specialist Thai ingredients, we also adapt to ingredients available in Tasmania so that you can recreate the dishes at home.

  • A set of recipes for your dishes (hardcopy or electronic version)

  • The dishes you cook to enjoy at the end of the class. (Please bring your own container to take your food home)

  • Participants must be a minimum of 18 years old

  • Any special dietary requirement please let me know. I will do my best to accommodate you even it is not always possible.
